Death

I was going to do things today but I can’t because somebody died by the hands of the police and the police were not charged for it. They announced this today. So I and the Black people of a nation are again faced to come to terms with the fact that the state and its officers can murder us and receive 0 repercussions. Property damage is not enough justice for me. Blood is a debt that must be paid in different means than the death of a gas station or the bottom 3 floors of an office building. There is almost nothing that would make my heart ease itself at this moment other than the complete dismantling of the American state and all its machinations. The death of the state is the only justice for the way the state has treated Black people for 400 years. That is the only true justice. And we continue to simply talk around that because it is uncomfortable and because it isn’t actionable and because it’s too radical of an idea. I get that. I understand the fear and the hesitancy behind saying something like this but that doesn’t make it any less true.
